Editorial policy

HyreMover publishes guidance for people about to hire a moving company. Every factual claim cites a named primary document with a retrieval date. This policy covers what we publish, what we refuse to publish, how we expect to make money, and what happens when something here is wrong.

Last updated

The short version. Primary sources, dated. No invented averages, rankings, reviews or experts. Gaps stay visible. Nobody can pay to change what a page says. Errors are fixed in place.

Where do the facts come from?

From primary material: federal and state agencies, industry standards and published research. For interstate moves that means the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and 49 CFR Part 375.

Where a claim is time-sensitive it carries the date it was last checked. The source is linked on the page, not kept in a file somewhere.

What will HyreMover not publish?

  • No fake averages. A national average price presented as though it were your price.
  • No unsupported listings. Company listings, ratings or reviews we cannot support from primary sources.
  • No unproven claims. Testimonials, case studies, statistics, certifications or awards we cannot evidence.
  • No pages written to rank. Pages written for a phrase rather than to answer a question.

What happens where data is missing?

The page says so. That is why this site carries no company directory today. The research behind it is still being built, and an empty framework described honestly is worth more than a full one that cannot be defended.

How does HyreMover expect to make money?

HyreMover expects to earn revenue by connecting people with moving companies. That relationship will be disclosed wherever it applies, and it will not decide what the guidance says. Nobody can buy a placement, a ranking or a favorable description on this site.

How are mistakes corrected?

  1. Tell us. Use the contact details at the foot of this page, with the page and what you think is wrong.
  2. We check the source. If a figure cannot be supported by the source we cited, we remove it rather than defend it.
  3. We fix it in place. The page is corrected and its review date changes.
  4. We note it. Where the correction changes the substance of what we said, the page says so.

Questions people ask

Who writes HyreMover?
The HyreMover research desk. We publish under the organization rather than invent individual authors, because a byline with no real, accountable person behind it is a trust signal, not a fact. Factual claims cite named primary documents with the date they were last checked.
How does HyreMover make money?
We expect to earn revenue by connecting people with moving companies. You are never charged for anything on this site. That relationship is disclosed wherever it applies and does not decide what the guidance says. Nobody can buy a placement, a recommendation or a change to a page.
Does a commercial relationship affect what you publish?
No. The honest test is whether the site ever publishes something commercially inconvenient. It does: we publish no average moving price, no rankings and no reviews we cannot support, and we say plainly where our own information is incomplete.
Where do your facts come from?
Primary material: federal and state agencies, industry standards and published research. For moving, that means FMCSA and 49 CFR Part 375 first. Time-sensitive claims carry the date they were last checked, and the source is linked on the page itself.
What will you not publish?
A national average price presented as your price. Company listings, ratings or reviews we cannot support from primary sources. Testimonials, case studies, statistics, certifications or awards we cannot evidence. And pages written to rank for a phrase rather than to answer a question.
How do I report an error?
Email us with the page and what you think is wrong. Corrections are welcome and are the fastest way to improve a page. If a figure here cannot be supported by the source we cited, we would rather remove it than defend it.
