A mover refusing to unload your belongings? Do not email us. On a non-binding interstate estimate, the mover must release the shipment when you pay 110 percent of the estimate. The rest is billed later.

Call the company’s office, then FMCSA at (888) 368-7238, and file with the National Consumer Complaint Database. Our warning signs page has the full sequence.

Planning a move? Tell us here

Three short steps: the move, your home, and how to reach you. A person reads it and replies. Company matching is still being built, and no moving company gets your details until you agree.

Plan Your Move

Tell us about the move and where you are. We will follow up about connecting you with moving companies serving your area.

Step 1 of 3: your project

What can HyreMover help with?

  • Which service you need. Match your situation to the job. The eight moving services lay it out.
  • What an estimate commits to. Binding or non-binding, and the 110 percent rule. See the three estimate types.
  • Which valuation you chose. Released value or full value protection, and what each pays. Read valuation and liability.
  • Checking a company yourself. The USDOT number, carrier or broker, and the SAFER record. Try the USDOT lookup.
  • How the calculators work. What each assumes and where it stops. All of them are on the tools page.
  • Corrections and press. If something here is wrong, or you want the source behind a statement, write to us.

What can HyreMover not help with?

  • Pricing a move. We have not seen it, and a guess would be worse than nothing.
  • Emergencies. A local company or the FMCSA line is faster and is the right call.
  • Dispatching a crew. We are not a carrier or a broker.
  • Recommending a company. We publish no rankings and no reviews. Here is why.
  • Disputes with a carrier. We have no relationship with them and no standing in it.
  • Insurance advice. We do not sell coverage and are not licensed to advise on it.

What should I check before I write?

First, find out whether your move crosses a state line. That one fact decides who regulates the company, how the price is worked out, and which protections you have.

Second, find the word on your estimate that names its type: binding or non-binding. If no type is written on the document, you do not yet have an estimate. That is often the real answer to the question you were about to ask.

The moving FAQ covers the questions we hear most.

HyreMover is an independent moving information site published at hyremover.com. It is not a moving company or a broker.

Questions people ask

Can you tell me what my move will cost?
No, and we will not guess. We have not seen your belongings, your stairs or your street. We can help you understand what drives the price, what a complete estimate contains, and which questions to ask a moving company.
Can you send movers to me?
No. HyreMover is not a moving company or a broker and does not dispatch crews. Company matching is still being built, so if you need a mover this week, contact local companies directly. They are faster than we are.
A mover is holding my belongings. Can you help?
Not directly. We have no relationship with the carrier and no standing in the dispute. Our warning signs page has what helps now: the 110 percent rule, the FMCSA line at (888) 368-7238 and the national complaint database.
How do I report an error on the site?
Email hello@hyremover.com with the page address and what you think is wrong. If something cannot be supported by the source we cited, we would rather remove it than defend it.
How do I have my data deleted?
Email hello@hyremover.com and ask. The privacy policy explains what we store, for how long, and how deletion works.
I run a moving company. How do I get listed?
There is no directory to be listed in. You can register your interest for free. Matching is still being built, and the page for moving companies sets out where it stands and what we would need from you.
